On the Central Way, I mostly stayed in public hostels. In June, they fill up quickly, so I almost always arrived early (1:00 p.m.). I recommend the one in Barcelos. It's clean and very welcoming.

On the Caminho da Costa, I did almost everything without reservations. I only booked Viana do Castelo because I was going on a Saturday. Private accommodations are more comfortable, but you lose that community spirit.

I prefer to book the first two nights. It gives me peace of mind to get into the swing of things. In Esposende, I stayed at Sleep & Wake. Top notch and inexpensive.

I'm #teamadventure 😅 I only book when I know I'll be arriving late. In private rooms you get more rest... but in public rooms you make friends.

@vitor-lopesantos I agree! June is really tough. Last year, I arrived in Ponte de Lima at 2 p.m. and the place was already packed.

@adeline-teixeira I also love starting with reservations! The first night always makes me nervous.
