Coastal Path - Senda Litoral
On the Way to the Coast: The Coastal Trail is a hidden treasure by the sea. Nestled along the Atlantic Ocean, this hike offers a new surprise with every breath of air that accompanies us along the entire route. The remote villages nestled along the fishing beaches of yesteryear now form Portugal’s most picturesque landscape. With the best in hospitality and cuisine (for those who love fish), this is a must-see route.
The adventures don’t end here, as this is a modern variation of the Coastal Way. Therefore, several of the stages can be shared between the two routes. So, upon leaving Porto Cathedral , the choice is up to you. If the sea is your home, then these next stages are designed with you in mind.

Store on the Way
Stage 1: Walk – The Port of Mougás
The Caminha – Porto Mougás stage is a breathtaking adventure from start to finish. It couldn't start in a more different way, as we have to take a boat to Galicia. For those who are more distracted, just ask the people at the hostels or where you are staying to give you the number or even book the boat (which takes up to 4 people).
Stage 2: The Port of Mougás – Saiáns
The Mougás Port–Saiáns leg is an adventure waiting to be discovered. Starting from the small village, we follow a quiet road until we reach a dirt-road climb. Here, the day’s adventure continues along the Caminho da Costa Senda Litoral.
Stage 3: Saiáns – Redondela
The Saiáns–Redondela stage is the last stage before the route joins the Portuguese Central Way. Although it is long and exhausting, we are captivated by beautiful cities and monuments.
