“On the Way” with Tânia

There are stories that don't start with a map, but with an impulse. Tânia's is one of those. Before putting her backpack on her back, she was already walking inside, guided by a silent desire to discover something greater than her final destination. Her journey was not only marked by kilometers, yellow arrows, and beautiful landscapes, but also by an inner calling, one of those that cannot be explained, only felt. Between faith, friendship, resilience, and moments that seem to have been written by destiny itself, Tânia experienced the Camino in an intense, human, and deeply spiritual way. She walked in a group, faced torrential rain, experienced unexpected blessings, was moved by unlikely encounters, and discovered, step by step, that the Way has a unique way of bringing us back to the essentials. And there was one moment in particular that touched the whole group deeply, one of those moments that remain engraved in the soul. Inside a small chapel, to the sound of a lady playing the guitar, they felt something greater than themselves. As the priest told them that day: "Here we leave all our burdens behind, not those in our backpacks, but those in our souls." It was one of those encounters that are unplanned but transformative. The photos we share tell the story of Tânia and all those who walked side by side: Nuno Cardoso, Sónia Silva, Cátia Carneiro, Victor Sampaio, and Isabel. And also those who, even though they were not physically present, walked spiritually with the group and had their names on the Compostela: Artur Soares and André Neves. In this interview, Tânia shares what motivated her, how she prepared, the moments that marked her, and the lessons she brought with her. A sincere, inspiring, and truthful conversation. If the Camino calls you, let yourself be inspired by Tânia's experience.
