Stage 10: Padrón - Santiago de Compostela

The Padrón - Santiago de Compostela stage is a return to urban trails designed with cars in mind. After the Roman city, we start to make our way through the last forest we'll come across. The rest of the route is back on the road that has accompanied us over time. THE N-550.
The journey takes place in a space of social transformation, between villages and modern cities such as O Milladoiro.
Arriving in the longed-for capital is a whirlwind of emotions and feelings, always in the company of pilgrims, visitors and inhabitants of the Galician capital. As we follow a straight line, we are greeted by the Chapel, Obradoiro Square and the end of our adventure.
It's time to reap the rewards of the journey, rest up and start planning the next one.

Padrón - Santiago de Compostela: Itinerary
A: Padrón
Leaving Padrón, you head straight into the countryside on the route to the city of Santiago de Compostela. Now that your energy has been boosted in the morning, don't miss the chance to marvel at the view from the top of the steps towards the church of Santiago.
B: Sanctuary of Slavery
On route 550 you'll reach the town of Escravitude. Visit the 17th century shrine of the same name. The name comes from a miracle that took place there, in which a man suffering from a debilitating illness was saved by the Virgin Mary, freeing him from the bondage of the disease. A little earlier, if you get hungry, be sure to visit the Cafeteria Capricho. The tostadas are generous and very tasty.
C: Ponte Velha
Just after the village of "milladoiro", the first place where you can see the chapel of Santiago de Compostela, the countdown to the Galician capital begins. On the way down you'll come across the old bridge over the River Sar.
D: Castro de Abaixo polygon
The place that marks, in a way, the entrance to the city of Santiago de Compostela. This landmark was inaugurated in 2008, on November 29th, by the mayor of the city, D. Xosé A. Sanchez Bugallo. From here the road goes straight ahead.
E: Santiago de Compostela
We're here! The city of Santiago de Compostela is the capital of Galicia. With the city's cathedral as the main attraction, there are many tourists in Obradoiro Square. The pilgrimage ends here and, at 7pm, there is a mass dedicated to all those who have made the journey. If you arrive early, take the opportunity to visit the places this town has to offer. Like the alameda park, the perfect place for a snack and a moment of relaxation.
