Due to bad weather forecasts, we have decided to postpone the walk planned for Women's Day, March 8, to March 22. This will be a special training walk for the Camino de Santiago. More than a physical challenge, this will be a space for sharing and reflection on safety on the Camino - one of the main fears that leads many women to hesitate before embarking on this solo adventure.
The route
We start early, with a unique moment: watching the sunrise from one of the city's most iconic spots, the Miradouro de Santa Lúzia, and following Lisbon as it wakes up. We continue through the historic streets, passing the Feira da Ladra, where the city begins to come alive, and head towards Parque das Nações.
When we reach the River Trancão, we say goodbye to the Tagus and leave behind the urban landscape to enter an unexpected rural dimension, an unknown side of Lisbon for many. We'll walk along the bank, surrounded by farmland and small trails, where the silence and tranquillity transport us to a completely different atmosphere. It's a walk of contrasts, where we observe the changing landscape and experience a brief immersion in the transformative magic of the Way.
Our destiny will be Alpriate, a stopping point on the Portuguese Camino de Santiago.
